“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” ~Hebrews 13:17 (ESV)

Bio Coming soon

Steve and his family have been members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church since 2003, when they moved to McKinney from Florida. He has been married to his wonderful bride, Terri, for 28 years and they have four children. Steve is a Semiconductor Engineer at Texas Instruments in Richardson.

He has served as an Elder at Redeemer since 2007 where he shepherds a Parish Group and leads a small discipleship group.

Steve came to Christ in the late ’70s out of an unchurched background through the ministry of friends and The Navigators Christian group at university. He has a heart for seeing believers grow in their personal faith and knowledge of the Lord through the means of grace given to the Church by our Lord (Word, sacrament, prayer, fellowship/disipleship, etc.).

The books that have most captivated him early in his walk are Knowing God by J.I.Packer and many A.W. Tozer books (i.e., The Knowledge of the Holy and The Pursuit of God). Lately, his personal reading interests are     centered around apologetics, philosophy and doctrine. He enjoys writings from Tim Keller, Sinclair Ferguson, John Piper and R.C. Sproul.

Elder David Ray

David and his wife Susan have been members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church since 2009. They have three adult children, two who’ve graduated from college and one still attending. David has been a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) since 1999 and has been serving on the session of Redeemer since 2013.

One of the many things David appreciates about Redeemer is the Christ-honoring worship and teaching. A book that has been greatly influenced David is John Piper’s, The Pleasures of God; which is why Psalm 16:11 is currently one of David’s favorite Scriptures.

“You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. ~Psalm 16:11 (ESV)

Elder Tim Yates

Tim and his wife Rowena have been married since 1981 and have two adult daughters. They’ve been members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church since 1997 where Tim served on RPC’s first diaconate and began serving as a ruling elder in 2001.

Tim has a Masters and doctoral work in English literature and taught college and University English for a number of years. Given his academic background, he believes teaching is among his spiritual gifts.

Non-literary interests include film, especially the film noir genre. Tim enjoys the baseball history of the Texas Rangers, and music from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Vaughan-Williams.

Tim’s favorite quote from early RPC days is, “Pardon me, sir, but will your cane prevent you from helping us with setup?”

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.'” ~Romans 1:16-17
